Abstract
The foundation and history of the Nederlandse Vereniging voor Hypnose (Neth erlands Society of Hypnosis or Nvvh) is described. The year 2001 marks the 70th anniversary of the Nvvh's creation. The article describes the accompli shments, leadership, and philosophy of the Society across the decades. Curr ent professional and training directions are discussed.
