Abstract
In this paper we formulate the general prestressability conditions for tens egrity structures. These conditions are expressed as a set of nonlinear equ ations and inequalities on the tendon tensions. Several examples of tensegr ity structures for which the prestressability conditions can be analyticall y solved are then presented. (C) 2001 Published by Elsevier Science Ltd.
