B. Fontaniella et al., Improvement of the analysis of dansylated derivatives of polyamines and their conjugates by high-performance liquid chromatography, J CHROMAT A, 919(2), 2001, pp. 283-288
The paper described a method for improving the hydrolysis of conjugated pol
yamines in PH fraction, isolated from the lichen Evernia prunastri, as well
as the optimization of dansylation procedure of these polyamines on the ba
sis of the pH value to which derivatization is achieved. Dansylated polyami
nes have been later separated by high-performance liquid chramatography (HP
LC) using a gradient elution. Hydrolysis of conjugates requires acid treatm
ent at room temperature rather than at 100 degreesC, as usually described.
Dansylation is improved at high pH values, whereas removal of phenolics (ma
inly evernic acid), from the conjugates requires low pH values. (C) 2001 El
