Abstract
We theoretically investigate changes in the spectrum of light scattere d from a randomly rough surface that bounds a system supporting severa l guided modes. The angular dependence of the intensity of light multi ply scattered from this system exhibits satellite peaks whose position s are frequency dependent. We show that the spectrum of the scattered light changes dramatically at the angles where the satellite peaks exi st. This gives rise to marked features in the position of the maximum of the spectrum of the scattered light as a function of the scattering angle.
