The ultrasonic compressional velocity (V,) and shear velocity (V,) in Li-Mn
ferrites are measured at room temperature by the ultrasonic pulse transmis
sion technique at 1 MHz frequency as well as the values of Young's moduli (
E), rigidity modulus (n), Debye temperature (theta (D)), mean sound velocit
y (V-m) and shear velocity (V-s). The variation of elastic moduli with comp
osition has been interpreted in terms of binding forces between the atoms o
