Abstract
In this paper, a 1 X 4 active phased-array antenna is designed using a volt age-controlled oscillator (VCO) with a varactor diode and a transmission-li ne network. The varactor diode was connected in parallel to the FET for the wide timing range of the VCO, and tile transmission-lint network was compo sed of the transmission line. the open stub, and the chip resistor. The sca n range, -20 to 22 degrees at 2.44 GHz, was controlled hy the applied varac tor diode voltage and the transmission-line coupling network. (C) 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
