Abstract
Dielectric resonator antennas of conical shapes are experimentally examined . The dielectric cone resides above a ground plane and is excited by a coax ial probe. Two configurations of the cone are tested: one with the wide bas e placed on the ground plane, and the other with the cone inr erred on the ground plane Results show that the inverted cone achieves a wider bandwidth .
