Abstract
This paper investigates the color facts from color images, obtains the rela tionship between chrominance and color components, and establishes a type o f coordinate transformation which is able to improve chrominance of skin an d lip. With these coordinates, a new method of human face detection and loc ation based on skin chrominance and lip chrominance transformation from col or images is presented. It is an effective and robust way to detect the pos ition of objects which is not influenced by the pose of objects and their c omplex background. The advantage of relatively stable chromatic information from color images is taken to detect or locate objects; also, the intensit y information from color images is applied to enhance the contrast ratio be tween two objects with tiny differences.
