Sg. Bystrov et al., The AFM and XPS investigation of the surface of polyethylene terephthalateirradiated by high energy ions, PHYS LOW-D, 3-4, 2001, pp. 257-261
Specific features of the surface chemical structure of the nuclear membrane
s based on polyethylenetherephtalate are discussed. The AFM and XPS were us
ed as the tools. A considerable quantity of hydroxyls and carboxyls was fou
nd to be present on the surface of the membranes. A combination of the AFM
and chemical. derivatization technique (CDT) were used to make an attempt o
f determining the local distribution of functional groups along the membran
e surface.
