Abstract
Trimethyldibenzothiophenes are ubiquitous in fossil fuels. The analysis of
them demands access to reference compounds. The synthesis and spectral prop
erties of seven trimethyldibenzothiophenes that have been shown to occur in
crude oil are described here.
