Aluminum, manganese, silicon, and cadmium are recommended as alloying compo
nents for upgrading the current-generating efficiency of the galvanic prote
ction of metal constructions with the use of anodes cast of zinc-alloy high
ly contaminated with iron. The optimum content of the alloying components e
nsuring the enhancement and stabilization of the principal electrochemical
properties, particularly, the current-generating efficiency of iron-contain
ing zinc. It is experimentally shown that an excessive content of manganese
, silicon, and cadmium leads to the development of structural and electroch
emical heterogeneity of alloys and, hence, to a decrease and destabilizatio
n of the current-generating efficiency of the anodes.
