Gm. Mokrousov et al., Intermolecular interactions in poly(methyl methacrylate) modified with silver, copper, or neodymium trifluoroacetates, RUSS J PH C, 75(6), 2001, pp. 1023-1025
Intermolecular interactions of poly(methyl methacrylate) with silver, coppe
r, and neodymium trifluoroacetates were studied by gas-liquid chromatograph
y. It was found that the polymer modified with these metal salts retains th
e ability to participate in donor-acceptor complexation with nucleophilic c
ompounds. This is a result of the delocalization of vacant orbitals of the
metal ion during the competitive interaction between the trifluoroacetate a
nion and the polymeric matrix.
