Mesoporous molecular sieve containing molybdenum,Mo - MCM - 48,was rapidly
synthesized under microwave radiation. Effects of the reaction pressure and
reaction time on the relative crystallinity of Mo - MCM - 48 were investig
ated. The samples were characterized by using XRD,TEM,FT - IR and N-2 adsor
ption techniques. The results show that Mo - MCM - 48 molecular sieve with
good crystallinity can be rapidly prepared under microwave radiation. Mo -
MCM - 48 was well synthesized at 0.481 MPa for 2 h. Framework IR spectra of
the samples affirm that the molybdenum cations are incorporated into frame
works of Mo - MCM - 48 molecular sieve. Calcination results indicate that M
o - MCM - 48 molecular sieve has high thermal stability. Catalytic oxidatio
n of styrene with aqueous hydrogen peroxide (omega = 26%) indicates that Mo
- MCM - 48 is catalytically active.
