Novel dibenzo - 18 - crown - 6 (DB18C6) complexes: [K(DB18C6)](2)[Pd(SCN)(4
)] (1), [K(DB18C6)](2)[Pt(SCN)(4)] (2) have been synthesized and characteri
zed by IR, X-ray diffraction analysis. The complexes are all triclinic, spa
ce group P -1. The crystal data of 1: a = 0.873 75(17) nm, b = 1.199 0 (2)
nm, c = 1.318 0(3) nm, alpha = 73.56(3)degrees, beta = 99.90(3)degrees, gam
ma = 82.34(3)degrees, V = 1.298 6(4) nm(3), Z = 1, F(000) = 584, R-1 = 0.07

(3) nm, c = 1.1819(3)nm, alpha = 106.21(2)degrees, beta = 82.77(3)degrees,

nsional infinite chain of two [K(DB18C6)](+) complex cations and a [M(SCN)(
4)](2-) complex anion bridged by K+ - pi interactions between adjacent [K(D
B18C6)](+) units.
