We report a case of acute myelomonocytic leukaemia (AMML) who presente
d with a striking leukaemic infiltration in the frontal area of the sc
alp that was also rapidly followed by infiltrates in other sites of th
e skin, mainly in the upper thoracic wall. Leukaemic skin infiltration
developed independently of his haematological status; nevertheless, h
e rapidly progressed to acute leukaemia. We emphasise the importance o
f early recognition and identification of such lesions with a subseque
nt early application of systematic antileukaemic therapy.
