Abstract
It has been clarified that great turbulence in the nozzle hole, due to cavi tation phenomena, contributes greatly to the disintegration of the liquid j et. When cavitation occurs in the nozzle hole, the atomization of the liqui d jet is enhanced considerably. On the basis of the result, this article pr esents a method for obtaining an excellent spray under lour injection press ure, using the disturbance of the liquid flow caused by cavitation. The res ults of the present study indicate enhancement of the atomization of the li quid jet is possible by simply installing a wire net over the inlet of the nozzle hole and making a gap at the nozzle hole.
