Abstract
Ochratoxins are mycotoxins produced by Aspergillus and Penicillium species. Ochratoxin contamination of cereal grains and other plant products is a se rious health hazard throughout the world since ochratoxins exhibit a range of pharmacological effects on animals and humans. This review deals with oc hratoxin producing organisms, ochratoxin detection methods, and occurrence and legislation of ochratoxins in foods and feeds.
