A simple route to organic-inorganic hybrid materials containing Eu3+ complexes

Direct complexation of europium nitrate into HMS materials containing phosp hine oxide groups covalently linked to a silica matrix is accomplished and is shown to work much better than into the corresponding materials prepared in the absence of surfactant.
