Abstract
We propose a molecular thermodynamic framework to describe vapor-liquid equ ilibria (VLE) of dendrimer solutions. We examined VLE of dendrimer solution s (polyamidoamine dendrimer/methanol and benzyl dodecyl dendrimer/toluene s ystems) on the effects of a branched structure and specific interaction for mations among end-groups of dendrimer and solvent molecules. The solvent-en dgroup specific interaction dominates VLE of given systems. The endgroups o f dendrimer also play a great role in determining VLE of highly branched po lymer structure. Excellent fits were obtained for VLE data of dendrimer/sol vent systems. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
