Abstract
We present picosecond time-resolved resonance Raman spectra that demonstrat e formation of the iso-CH2Br-I species following A-band excitation of bromo iodomethane in cyclohexane solvent at room temperature. The isoCH(2)Br-I sp ecies is produced within several ps and appears to decay with a half-life o n the 2-3 ns time scale. We compare these results to previous studies on so lution phase photodissociation of dihalomethanes. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
