The sol-gel process is on interesting route to prepare inorganic and inorga nic-organic sols. These sols, in general, consist of colloidal nanoparticle s or oligomers and are stabilized by electrical charges or functional group ings in order to avoid uncontrolled agglomeration. By appropriate processin g, many interesting materials such as coatings on glasses and plastics, cer amics or materials for optics, data storage and information technologies ca n be fabricated.
