Abstract
This article reviews a number of point-of-care testing technologies. Some o f these tests (e.g., urinalysis, pregnancy testing, and occult blood testin g) are among the more commonly performed point-of-care tests in the hospita l and outpatient settings. The clinical use of these tests in the point-of- care setting is reviewed along with the authors' experience concerning the management of these manual point-of-care technologies.
