Abstract
It is shown that the values of phosphorus sorption by native soils and thei r clay fraction are: similar, because all particle-size elements of the soi ls are covered with a him of hydroxides. By the amount of adsorbed phosphor us, the soils under study are arranged in the following sequence: soddy-pod zolic soils < tropical hydromorphic soils < krasnozem < tropical ferralliti c soils.
