Abstract
Isotherms of water vapor sorption by montmorillonite, kaolinite, quartz, an d their Zn- and Pb-saturated forms in the moistening-drying cycle are prese nted. It is shown that adsorbed Zn2+ and Pb2+ cations exert opposite effect s on the sorption of water vapor by minerals: Pb2+ decreases and Zn2+ incre ases the sorption capacity of the mineral. Pb2+ and K+ cations exert simila r effects on the sorption of water vapor by clay minerals.
