Abstract
We report four cases of acute idiopathic scrotal oedema, an underreported c ause of acute painless or moderately painful swelling and erythema of the s crotum in young boys. It is a self-limiting disease and to prevent unnecess ary surgical exploration or antibiotic therapy, it is very important to dis tinguish acute idiopathic scrotal oedema from more serious diseases.
