Abstract
The synthesis of 6-substituted 11H-dibenz[b,e]azepin-11-ones is reported vi a the lead tetraacetate oxidative cyclization of 2-amino-2-hydroxybenzophen one N-acylhydrazones. A mechanism involving formation of a 2-acyl-2'-aminob enzophenone intermediate is proposed.
