Abstract
An image interpolator with image improvement is proposed and implemented fo r FPD(Flat Panel Display) in this paper. We propose the adaptive pseudomedi an filter for the interpolation of images and the real-time contrast contro ller for image improvement. The proposed interpolation algorithm is based o n a pseudomedian filter and uses transposed sub-windows according to the co rrelation of pixels in the image. The proposed contrast controller uses imp roved histogram stretching methods and does not require field and frame mem ory for processing the pixels. The operation of the proposed method has bee n verified and designed using computer simulation and VHDL. The proposed me thod achieves better performance than the others from the point of view of the edge and local characteristics.
