A new five coordinate copper(II) complex, [Tp*CuL]ClO4 (Tp* = Hydrotris(3,5
-dimethylpyrazolyl)borate and L = 1-methylcarbaldimino-3,5-dimethylpyrazole
) has been synthesised and characterized by IR, W-Vis, EPR spectroscopies a
nd cyclic voltammetry. The three nitrogen atoms of Tp* and two nitrogen ato
ms of L are coordinating with copper making a distorted square pyramidal ge
ometry around the metal centre.
