Abstract
Indirect photooxidation of 1,4-dihydropyridine derivatives la-l using rose bengal, methylene blue and tetraphenylporphine as sensitizer results in the aromatization of ring and formation of pyridine derivatives. In some cases the loss of the 4-substituent has been observed.
