Abstract
The reaction between Me3N . BH2CONHC2H5 (1) and anhydrous HCl gas in diethy l ether resulted in the formation of an unprecedented salt, Me3N . BH2C(OH) =N+HC2H5Cl- (2), whose crystal structure unambiguously shows that the amide hydrogen atom is oriented in trans configuration with respect to the hydro xyl group.
