Abstract
The effect of densification (pitch impregnation followed by firing) on the length of thermal cracks was analyzed for two kinds of flaked polycrystalli ne graphite materials using 300- to 1100-K resistivity ratios before and af ter densification. The decrease in crack length upon densification (1-3% of the grain size) was found to increase with lamella size.
