Abstract
A technique is proposed for fabricating diamond-SiC-Si composites via chemi cal reactions between silicon and carbon directly in the green compact at p ressures no higher than 10(5) Pa. An important advantage of the process is the ability to fabricate complex-shaped bodies from diamond-containing comp osites exhibiting unique mechanical properties.
