Abstract
A new energy function is introduced for the binocular disparity comput ation. The energy function uses the phase-magnitude of the image to de tect the shift for a pair of images, and satisfies major natural const raints and requirements for implementing parallel relaxation. The mult iscale concept is applied and the mean field approximation is used for obtaining a compact representation.
