Abstract
The authors report the use of a packaged, integrated Mach-Zehnder inte rferometer as a channel selector in a 40-Gbit/s (16 x 2.5 Gbit/s) opti cal TDMA LAN which is currently being used to interconnect high-end co mputer workstations, To the authors knowledge this is the first applic ation of an all-optical switch in a computer network.
