A 57-year-old man developed a ciliary body mass, clinically diagnosed as ma
lignant melanoma of the ciliary body, that produced a cataract in the right
eye. Treatment was cataract surgery with sclerouvectomy performed simultan
eously. Pathohistologic examination revealed an acquired adenoma of the non
pigmented ciliary epithelium. The clinicopathologic features and treatment
of this tumor are discussed. J Cataract Refract Surg 2001; 27: 956-959 (C)
