Abstract
Attention must be redirected toward health promotion as nursing evalua tes the goal of health for all. Confusion regarding health promotion b ehavior is illustrated by term, with diverse meanings and uses. In a p rocess of critical analysis. five multidisciplinary experts in health promotion responded to a surrey targeting the distinction of health pr omotion, health promotion behavior, health protection behavior, diseas e prevention behavior, preventive health behavior. health behavior, an d healthy lifestyle. Descriptors of health promotion were derived from a multidimensional conception of well-bring. Disagreement existed con cerning health protection and health behavior. Nursing interventions a re linked to reflective discourse regarding health promotion behavior.
