This paper examines the errors of a TP2-5W touch trigger probe using m
easurements performed with a three-axis co-ordinate measuring machine
(CMM). Of the 'user-selected properties' which can affect the accuracy
of measurements, those examined are the direction of approach, the st
ylus length and diameter, the measuring speed, the approach distance,
the location of the workpiece, the orientation of the workpiece and th
e mounting of the stylus stem.
