A high-resolution analysis of the {nu (2), nu (3)} and {nu (4,) nu (6)} ban
ds of the two isotopomers of chloryl fluoride (FClO2)-Cl-35 and (FClO2)-Cl-
37 has been carried out for the first time using simultaneously infrared sp
ectra recorded around 16 mum and 26 mum with a resolution of ca. 0.003 cm(-
1) and microwave and submillimeter-wave transitions occurring within the vi
brational states 2(1), 3(1), 4(1), and 6(1). Taking into account the Coriol
is resonances which link the rotational levels of the {2(1), 3(1)} and the
{4(1), 6(1)} interacting states, it was possible to reproduce very satisfac
torily the observed transitions and to determine accurate vibrational energ
ies and rotational constants for the upper states 2(1), 3(1), 4(1), and 6(1
) of both the Cl-35 and Cl-37 isotopic species. (C) 2001 Academic Press.
