Abstract
Iron(II) complexes of D-saccharose and D-glucose were prepared. The co mpositions of the complexes were determined by standard analytical met hods. The Mossbauer spectra reflected the presence of high-spin iron(I II) in the polynuclear species. EPR spectroscopy demonstrated antiferr omagnetically coupled iron(In) centers within the solid complexes. The C-13 NMR spectra indicated the presence of a mixture of coordination isomers of iron(III) complexes containing the sugar ligand in differen tly bound forms.
