The potential of hydrated titanium(IV) oxide as a granular inorganic s
orbent fur radiostrontium was studied by carrying out laboratory-scale
column experiment. The feed to the column was a simulated waste solut
ion of reprocessing plant origin. The breakthrough curve for removal o
f radiostrontium was determined. High decontamination factors were obt
ained for thousands of bed volumes. ?he column loading results were co
rrelated with batch distribution data.
