Abstract
The preparation of azocalix[4]-bis-crown 1 combining one polyether cro wn-6 and one azobenzene modified crown-4 O-attached on each side of a calix[4]arene in the 1,3-alternate conformation is reported. The X-ray structures of 1 and of the 1:1 complex 1.CsNO3 as solvates with nitro methane are also presented. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
