The International Centre for scientific and technical information (ICSTI) i
n Moscow was founded in 1969. Until 1990, it coordinated the set up of an i
nternational system for scientific and technical information for the member
s of the COMECON. After a consolidation phase a second stage started in 199
0. The Centre began to inform Russian users about international market cond
itions and new products. For foreign users the Centre offers scientific and
technical information from Russian sources and comprehensive services for
companies interested in trade with Russia and the other CIS countries. 18 c
ountries are members of the Centre. Interested firms and organisations can
also become associated partners to participate in the work of the ICSTI.
