The paper discusses results of numerical simulation for operation of a targ
et with a cylindrical chamber and converters positioned on the side surface
of the walls rated at a driver energy of about 10MJ. Effect of ion pulse d
uration and form and some chamber structural elements on the target paramet
ers is studied. The studies are a continuation of the effort commenced in 1
993, the results of which were presented at the 11th and 12th Symposia on H
eavy Ion Inertial Fusion in Princeton and Heidelberg, respectively. (C) 200
