We have proposed a new three-nucleon force (3NF) which was motivated by the
NN interaction two-body input in the Faddeev equations [1]. We have previo
usly derived modified Faddeev three-body equations [2]. Numerical calculati
ons for N-d scattering were carried out using the Paris potential and its c
orresponding 3NF. Spin polarization phenomena, A(y), and differential cross
sections were presented at energies E-lab = 5, 10, 28, 65, 95 and 135 MeV.
The results describe the experimental data adequately when the 3NF is para
meterized to yield the experimental triton binding energy. In particular, t
he Sagara discrepancy for the differential cross section is well characteri
zed and the spin polarization calculations present a promising direction fo
r explaining the A, puzzle, although only the Born term of the 3NF equation
is adopted.
