Holographic reconstruction of images as a simulation of actual boundary con
ditions for the reconstructed wave is commented in connection with the poss
ibility of simulation of other phenomena. When some non wavelike phenomena
are simulated by reproducing the boundary conditions in a region some physi
cal magnitude is reconstructed in a way that is very similar to that obtain
ed in holography. The analogy can be used to generate new insights in the s
imulated phenomena.
