The sol-gel derived matrices for indirect fiberoptic sensors are described.
Variously shaped fiber tips with attached optodes are prepared: flat one w
ith macroptode, as well as tapered and shallow ones with microptodes. The a
ngular light intensity distribution near the fiber tip was measured for the
se three types of optodes. Advantages and disadvantages of the above soluti
ons are discussed. The Ruthenium complex based optodes were constructed and
the sensors responses after 36 hours of constant illumination were examine
d, as well. The smallest signal decrease was observed for shallow fiber tip
with an internal microptode.
