Morphology and site characteristics are described for ploughing blocks in a
sub-alpine zone of the Canadian Rockies. The ploughing block features (blo
cks, troughs, levees, etc.) are generally larger than those described for o
ther parts of the world. Good correlations were found between block size an
d both depression size and mound height. A number of ancillary observations
and measurements suggest active block movement in the study area. Copyrigh
