We address recent developments in the exploration of quantum nuclear dynami
cs in large, finite, low-temperature systems, focusing on Bose-Einstein con
densates (T similar or equal to 100 nK), optical molasses (T similar or equ
al to 10-100 muK) and aromatic molecule . He-n clusters (T = 0.4 K). The ex
pansion of optical molasses bears a close analogy to the nuclear dynamics o
f Coulomb explosion of multicharged clusters. Spectroscopy of electronic-vi
brational excitations of anthracene . He-n clusters manifests large nuclear
quantum effects, nonrigidity, large scale confinement and permutational sy
mmetry effects. Perspectives for the novel research area of nuclear dynamic
s of ultracold finite systems are advanced.
