Abstract
We propose a method for implementing the large-N-c, large-N-f limit of QCD at the effective Lagrangian level. Depending on the value of the ratio N-f/ N-c, different patterns of chiral symmetry breaking can arise, leading in p articular to different behaviors of the eta ' mass in the combined large-N limit.
