Abstract
It is shown that an empirical multifractal spectrum describing spatial inho mogeneity of the human beta globin gene is consistent with stretched lognor mal distribution generated by an analytic branching cascade with branching dimension equal to 2. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
